The George Darley Society

The George Darley Society has been set up to promote the appreciation and study of a still neglected Romantic-era author -- the Irish poet, dramatist and critic George Darley. A full bibliography of original works and critical studies will follow, as well as links to biographical essays and recent conference activity. Having written some short studies of Darley, my current project is to edit and publish a critical edition of his selected poems, including the vision-quest narrative Nepenthe (1835). I am also seeking to establish communication and collaboration: if you have any interest in Darley's writing or life and times, please contact me at m.bradshaw@mmu.ac.uk -- I would welcome contributions to this site, and suggestions for the further recovery of a significant late Romantic voice.
